This is the shocking moment a man attacked an elderly bus passenger.
Members of the public tried to intervene as the man grabbed his victim and span him around.
He pushed and shouted at the terrified pensioner who was shaken by his ordeal. The 64-year-old victim, who has not been named, was punched in the head during the attack.
Passers-by comforted him and alerted police who have appealed for help to identify the attacker.
The incident was captured by security cameras on a bus in Western Road, Hove.
Both men had got on to the bus at the stop outside St Andrew's Church, near Tesco in Church Road, Hove.
The cameras recorded the suspect showing the driver a saver ticket as he boarded.
The bus continued along Church Road and into Western Road as it headed towards Churchill Square in Brighton.
Several passengers stood up to get off the bus as it neared the Brunswick bus stop between Lansdowne Place and Farm Road, Hove.
PC Andrew Connell said: "The younger man had been upstairs and came down as the bus approached the stop.
"He pushed past the elderly man and some words were exchanged between them as he did so.
"Once they had both got off the bus the offender began pushing the victim despite the efforts of members of the public to intervene.
"We would like to hear from anyone who recognises the suspect from the pictures taken by the bus cameras."
All Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company buses now have security cameras on them to help protect drivers and passengers.
Company bosses hand over footage of all suspicious incidents to the police.
Several people have been identified and prosecuted, in some cases handing themselves in to the police, after The Argus printed their pictures.
In this case, the suspect was wearing a T-shirt with writing on it which included the word parking. Witnesses to the attack, which happened on May 15 at 3.48pm, should phone Mr Connell at Hove police station on 0845 6070999.
