Police investigating the disappearance of a man on holiday in Spain have found a body.
Officers from Sussex Police are liaising with Spanish authorities to determine whether the body is that of 39-year-old Kevin Hoare.
Nobody has seen or heard from Mr Hoare since friends left him at the Organics Club in the popular gay resort of Sitges, near Barcelona, at about 4.45am on May 11.
Mr Hoare, a gay man who was a production worker and lived in Bognor, failed to meet his brother at Gatwick on May 13. His mobile phone had not been used and his bank account was untouched.
Sussex Chief Inspector Brian Blacher told a Press conference at Littlehampton police station a body had been found in Sitges late on Tuesday night.
A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out yesterday afternoon by a Spanish coroner to clarify if the body was that of Mr Hoare.
Mr Hoare's brother Alan, 37, of Moorhen Way, Bognor, said: "Kevin, we all miss you and love you very much.
"We just need to know you are safe and well.
"To anyone who thinks they have seen Kevin or knows where he is, I urge you to pick up the phone and speak to the police.
"It is incredibly hard for us as a family to deal with this.
"We simply have no idea where, or how, Kevin is.
"Someone must know something."
Chief Insp Blacher said: "At the moment information is very limited and we are working hour by hour.
"This investigation is being carried out by Spanish police and we have to go through the British Consulate to get our information.
"We are mindful the body may not be Kevin's and still want to track down any witnesses.
"The main concern for us is Kevin's well-being.
"The family are very upset but determined to do all they can to help us find Kevin."
Mr Hoare's father Peter, 68, was at the conference but was too distressed to join Alan and Kevin's aunt, Jean Slaughter, in addressing reporters.
Mr Hoare's family said his disappearance was totally out of character. He had a good job, his own home, numerous friends and a close family.
On the night of his disappearance Mr Hoare had been to dinner with two friends at their holiday apartment before the three of them went to the Organics Club.
They left Mr Hoare at the club as he wanted to stay.
Mr Hoare frequently went on holiday on his own and had visited Sitges before.
