I, too, do not find it an honour for Labour's party conference to be held in Brighton (Letters, May 19).
My own MP of one year, Celia Barlow, shares this Government's anti-democratic style. Repeated letters have finally elicited the statement she is "reluctant to sign a motion which would prevent the Government engaging in preparations to build a new generation of nuclear weapons prior to the conclusion of (this) debate".
So we now know New Labour intends to ignore the 2000 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Yet, take note: The letter-writing process remains a vital strategy in the face of nuclear madness.
