I was outraged to hear Councillor Willows has not been asked to resign. Such comments cannot be tolerated from a public figure in a city renowned for tolerance.
Similar comments about the black community, for example, would certainly have led to a demand for his resignation.
Mr Willows has a position of responsibility which he has used irresponsibly.
The Tory party has a long way to go to prove its "commitment" to equality. Those of us in the gay community have known all along the party's equalities policy is hollow and probably merely votepulling rhetoric.
The best way David Cameron could prove his commitment to quality would be to fire people such as Peter Willows.
