I am experiencing exactly the same problem as Mrs Shepherd (Letters, May 19) with water from my taps which tastes of chemicals or, as described, "having a metallic poisonous aftertaste".
I find this quite worrying water is something we need to put into our bodies.
Nothing will get rid of the taste and I am forced to buy bottled water for drinking purposes.
Not everyone can afford huge quantities of bottled water.
I, too, would like to know what is causing this awful taste and if it is fluoride.
It is strongest at the end of the first week of the month, making it undrinkable.
Visitors notice it, too. Can Southern Water or anybody else please explain what causes this problem.
