Albion will be cheering for Leeds in tomorrow's Championship play-off final in Cardiff - to line their pockets.

The cash-strapped Seagulls will land a £150,000 windfall if Kevin Blackwell's side make it to the Premiership by beating Watford at the Millennium Stadium.

The bonus becomes due as part of the transfer tribunal package which took Dan Harding from Withdean to Elland Road last summer.

The clauses included a £150,000 lump sum if Leeds win promotion during the three years of Harding's contract.

Albion have already pocketed £500,000 from the sale of the former England under-21 leftback after fighting their case in front of a four-man panel at the Premier League's London headquarters last July.

They received a £450,000 downpayment in two installments and another £50,000 when Harding made his 20th first team appearance for Leeds at home to Coventry on Boxing Day.

Albion are also entitled to further £50,000 payments when Harding plays his 40th and 60th games for the Yorkshire giants.

They have a 20 per cent sell-on as well and would receive another £100,000 in the unlikely event of Harding winning a full England cap.

Harding, a play-off winner with Albion against Bristol City in Cardiff two years ago, is in contention for his first appearance of the year against Watford.

He has not featured since hurting a hamstring at Stoke at the end of December but his replacement since then, Stephen Crainey, is suspended.
