How interesting to read Sussex Police have spent £20,000 in 11 months on taxi fares for suspects to ensure their safe return home (The Argus, May 9).
What a pity they can't treat everyone to this luxury.
My son and his friend were witnesses to a very serious incident and went along to the police station to provide statements.
They eventually left the station at 4.30am but there was no mention of a taxi and they were expected to find their own way home. Words fail me.
