They are calling this the Red Book Tour and in many ways it is the start of a new chapter for Texas.
Seemingly around forever, the beautiful Sharleen Spiteri is back doing what she does best after two years of writing, recording and putting together a very good record.
With tracks like Can't Resist, Bad Weather and Get Down Tonight, taken from the new album, Texas continue to tread the thin line between melodious passion and all out rock 'n' roll.
And this felt very much like a reunion - like welcoming back an old friend after a gap year spent travelling the world.
The line-up of the band is slightly changed and that was reflected in a somewhat disjointed feel to some of their playing.
Michael Bannister, the 25-year-old keyboard player and former Belle and Sebastian studio engineer who has joined the band, has added a crisper feel to songs like crowd favourites White On Blonde and I Don't Want A Lover.
His playing also added a new drive and energy and the band had a more instrumental feel to it, which papered over any cracks.
Guitar Song was a bit of let-down, but most of the new material sounded superb and the change of direction Texas has taken with Red Book was evident on stage as Sharleen, an often calm performer, oozed energy and movement.
It is always difficult with a band like Texas to stray away from their back catalogue, which remains so popular.
But Spiteri took the brave step of not sticking too rigidly to formula and mixed the old, like Summer Son, with new, like the potential radio hit Get Down Tonight.
Texas have turned a page and look set to win a whole new group of fans as a result.
