The results of a post-mortem into how a bar manager died suddenly in a Barcelona hotel room have been delayed.
Barcelona police officers believe Bianca Heard, 29, may have died from a drug overdose but were still waiting to have that confirmed by the postmortem results yesterday evening.
The 29-year-old, who worked at Brighton Rocks in Rock Place, died after spending last Saturday night out in Barcelona with her friend and boss Mark Whiting. He found her body in her hotel room on Sunday morning. They were on their way to Palma for a few days holiday.
Miss Heard was Australian but had lived and worked in Brighton for four years. She should have returned to Brighton yesterday.
Sergeant Isidora Barbero told The Argus: "We still don't have the final results. The only thing I can say is it seems Bianca's death was because of drug abuse but we are still not sure because we need the final analysis of the post-mortem."
He said he hoped the results would be available later today.
An online memorial page for Bianca has been set up. People wishing to leave messages of condolence or send photographs should visit health.groups.yahoo.com/group/biancaheard
