What a bloomer you made in the front page story in saying petrol prices in Sussex have crashed through the £4-a-gallon mark for the first time.
When I was taught mathematics at school during the Second World War, there were 4.54 litres to a gallon and I don't suppose that figure has changed, so the Peacehaven price of 105.9 pence per litre converts to £4.80 per gallon - £4 per gallon was passed a long time ago when the price was 89p per litre.
