The price of fuel keeps on rising (The Argus, May 13) and looks set to continue doing so.
However, I'm not so sure that the example given of 105.9p per litre is a good one. Local residents will know this particular outlet has historically been more expensive than other nearby filling stations.
If the camera lens had panned a couple of hundred yards along the South Coast Road, it would have found unleaded petrol at a much more "reasonable" (sigh) 94.9p per litre.
I'm obviously not privy to the wholesale price of fuel in each case, but a difference of 11p a litre that's £5.50 for a tankful in my car - does seem extreme.
Passing the premises a few times on the Saturday revealed no cars being filled up.
Perhaps motorists voted with their feet, or rather, their tyres.
