Stringed, physical comedy is not an entirely new concept and on first reading, it wasn't entirely clear what Pluck could offer that the virtuosic Gogmagogs did not.
We did not have to wonder for long.
The Specialists, Pluck's latest show, introduces classical classics to a family audience, without any of the tedium that a six-year-old with a six-second attention span might be expected to feel about the Moonlight Sonata or 1812 Overture.
Instead, children and adults were glued to the stage, bellowing belly laughs at the variety of slapstick humour accompanying a gifted performance.
Tennis balls were fired from canons across the stage, cakes were eaten in the messiest of fashions, all while keeping perfect time and pitch for pieces such as Tango classic El Choclo.
Violinist Adrian Garratt's enthusiastic silliness accompanied by violist Jon Regan as the stooge and cellist Sian Kadifachi as the stroppy artiste kept us on our toes, especially when they launched into an acapella version of Whitney Houston's classic I Will Always Love You.
They left us all wanting more.
