I was so pleased to read all the nice things Debbie Knowles had to say about this year's Brighton Festival Children's Parade (The Argus, May 10).
Credit, as always, should go to Same Sky, our wonderful local arts organisation, which works with the schools to ensure each year's spectacle surpasses the previous year's.
All the people involved with the organisation of the parade wholeheartedly endorse Ms Knight's plea for a full road closure for this one special day each year.
Routes for emergency services can be planned, leaving our streets free for the children, their relatives and teachers, to enjoy this special day.
Finally, I was on the seafront for the singing of the festival song and I can assure you we went on singing until the final child had left the site.
Patsy Palmer and Zoe Ball were real troupers and, supported by Mark Chadwick from The Levellers, went on conducting, keeping our spirits lifted, to the very last note.
