No mystery about the Mystery Jets - you couldn't get more fun in a band if you got a big squeezing thing and fed it with fun.
This is what good rock 'n' roll should be about. Henry Harrison, the dad of lead singer Blaine, looked like a mad professor as he bashed out percussion and keyboards, while Blaine himself whacked away at dustbin lids and other weird percussion as he belted out his boyish vocals.
Meanwhile a rampant Kapil Trivedi drove each track with his ruthless drumming.
The Mystery Jets are on the runway to stardom. And yet there is something very innocent about the whole thing. Right before launching into their single The Boy Who Ran Away - which recently topped the NME chart Blaine pleaded with crowd surfers to "be careful".
Next up was You Can't Fool Me Dennis, the soon-to-be released single which was met with huge appreciation, a good sign that the band's new material is likely to be afforded the same kind of enthusiasm as their past releases.
The Mystery Jets are also due to appear at The Beach nightclub on May 19, so more could be unveiled then. If you want to hear good quality, heartfelt and above all fun rock 'n' roll which will leave you running around shouting "Yipeee!" at the top of your voice then catch the band while they are still in town.
