Is another part of Hove's heritage being sold off?
Is the wonderful Victorian Goldstone pump at the Engineerium being auctioned as well?
As a young police officer, I was shown this beam engine with its large wheel and giant pistons by a man who took great pride in its unkeep, cleaning everything which was brass as he went along. This was before it was open to the public.
I retired from the police in 1997 and worked for Brighton and Hove City Council in Hove Museum and Art Gallery.
As part of looking at other council premises, we were shown around the Engineerium with all its magnificient exhibits.
Will the council come to the Engineerium's rescue?
They spend thousands of pounds on the Brighton Festival and fringe events so how about looking after part of Hove's history.
I see the wonderful old Hove fire engine is owned by the council but cared for by volunteers, who take great pride in doing so (The Argus, May 9). Don't blink, or it will be another part of Hove's history sold off.
