Generous readers readers of The Argus have raised an amazing £13,000 for our appeal to help a father dying from cancer.
Donations are flooding in for The Neil Cooper Appeal and many more events are planned to raise the total even further.
Friends, family, football teammates, work colleagues and strangers have been touched by Mr Cooper's story and are pledging to do all they can to help him.
Mr Cooper, 33, from Portslade, has an untreatable form of cancer affecting his lungs and kidneys.
His family urgently need people's help to give him the chance to spend more time with his six-month-old daughter Caitlin and wife Wendy, 32.
The appeal is raising money for a course of trial cancer treatment not available on the NHS.
There is no guarantee it will work but there is a good chance it will prolong Mr Cooper's life.
Donors have already raised £10,000 for the next course and fundraising is well under way towards the cost of the treatment after that.
Gifts include £300 from Christine and Brian Salvage, a former colleague of Neil's father, and £500 from the Round Table Lodge of Sussex.
There is a fund-raising party at Brighton nightclub Creation tonight and a sponsored head shave by staff from Legal and General, Hove, where Mr Cooper works, at Trevor Sorbie, Brighton, tomorrow.
Personal trainer Justin Graves is offering half-price sessions for £10 at Cheetah's gym at the King Alfred Centre, Hove, on Thursday with all proceeds going to the appeal. It is vital to pre-book on 07861 231499.
Cheques made payable to The Argus can be sent to: The Neil Cooper Appeal, Argus House, Crowhurst Road, Brighton, BN1 8AR. You can also donate by credit card.
