I recently visited a large beer cannery in Spain and was amazed by the thousands of cans passing along on the conveyor belts.
No wonder we are short of water they are making it all into booze. I could never understand how the Spanish, with more severe droughts than us, could still water their parks and golf courses with large bore hoses. I expect they are recycling water, helped by the large influx of lager louts during the summer.
Perhaps we should follow their example and set up recycling containers outside the bars and nightclubs. Television could help by showing them outside EastEnders' Old Vic and Coronation Street's Rovers Return.
Why not water your garden with your own personel hose? Wear a football shirt or a long raincoat and people will ignore you. After all, my one-eyed cat Trevor and his mates water my strawberries and they are delicious.
