British soul diva Terri Walker may not be a household name, but she is well respected in the music biz, with a list of credits which reads like that of a veteran.
At just 26, she has worked with The Young Disciples, Brand New Heavies, Paul Weller, Mos Def, Lisa Stansfield, Ben Watt, Rafael Saadiq and Jools Holland - who selected her to appear on an album and perform with him at the Royal Albert Hall - and has been up for a Mercury Prize.
With a new single out this week and her third album, I Am, coming soon, mainstream success looks likely.
She's already appeared on radio shows with Trevor Nelson, Jo Whiley and Jonathan Ross and is getting airplay on commercial, as well as urban stations.
Terri co-wrote and co-produced all the tracks on I Am, and has created a soulful pop album, similar in parts to her Mercury Prize-nominated record Untitled. The tour follows a residency at the Jazz Cafe, London.
Starts 8pm, tickets cost £9. Call 01273 647100.
