I applaud Heather and Paul McCartney's stand against the global fur trade.

Their efforts have exposed the horrors inflicted on animals by some European countries and the vile behaviour shown by the Chinese to their animals.

Some scenes were hard to believe. To stage the next Olympics in a country which has a ghastly human rights record and whose people skin animals alive for profit is beyond belief.

I hope the McCartneys' courage will one day reap just rewards.
