I've been a Labour voter and supporter all my life but issues with the world's environment are coming to a head and we must all do something to help.
So, you can have my vote in the May elections but on one condition that you do something fundamentally positive for our environment, such as enabling every household in Brighton and Hove to install a solar-heating panel.
This would immediately cut home fuel requirements by about 30 per cent, enabling electric car staging/recharging points to be set up in every Brighton and Hove neighbourhood.
This, in turn, would help wean us off individual car ownership. All council and public transport vehicles should be electricity-driven within two years, thereby making Brighton and Hove the most cycle and bus-friendly city in the country.
Do all this and I'll vote for you. If you can't/won't, then I and thousands of other people, thinking of the world we'll be handing over to our children and grandchildren, will be voting Green.
