A 26-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with Britains biggest cash robbery.
Ermir Hysenaj, of New Road, Crowborough, is accused of conspiracy to rob in relation to the £53 million Securitas depot raid in Tonbridge, Kent, two months ago.
Wearing a green sweatshirt and dark-blue jogging bottoms, he spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared in the enclosed glass box at Maidstone Crown Court for a five-minute preliminary hearing yesterday.
He was remanded in custody by Judge Andrew Patience QC to appear at the same court on June 12. There was no application for bail.
Four men and a woman will appear alongside Hysenaj that day for a plea and directions hearing. Car dealer John Fowler, 60, of Staplehurst in Kent, has been charged with conspiracy to rob, three counts of kidnapping the depot manager, his wife and son, and handling stolen goods.
Car salesman Stuart Royle, 47, from Maidstone, unemployed Jetmir Bucpapa, 24, from Tonbridge, and 33-year-old roofer Lea Rusha, from Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells all in Kent have been charged with conspiracy to rob.
Hairdresser Kim Shackleton, 38, from Maidstone, has been charged with handling stolen goods. Another woman, Romanian warehouse worker Raluca Antonela Millen, 25, of Dudley Road, Tunbridge Wells, has been charged with conspiracy to rob and conspiracy to kidnap in connection with the raid.
She is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday for a preliminary hearing.
Raiders netted £53,116,760 in the early hours of February 22. Most of the cash is still missing.
