Until George and Margaret King, from Crowborough both developed breast cancer (The Argus, March 17), they were not able to exert enough pressure to have the Vodafone phone mast removed from the vicinity of their house.
Does this mean that, when Marconi/T-Mobile erects their 3G phone mast in Hove, we have to wait until someone, possibly a child attending a nursery close by, develops cancer before we can persuade them to take it down?
There are three nurseries in close proximity to this planned mast (one within ten metres), as well as many homes.
Why can't Marconi/T-Mobile accept the advice of the Government's own adviser on mobile phones, that masts should not be placed near schools as a precaution?
Until Marconi/T-mobile can publically give an absolute assurance that no health risk is attached to this mast, they should not be allowed to go ahead against the wishes of our community and our democratically-elected council.
Marconi, we don't want your mast and we don't need your 3G phones - not at the expense of our peace of mind.
