The Brighton Festival has been criticized in the past for not supporting the work of local artists and performers.
This year, the Festival is putting on Cooped by local company Spymonkey at the Theatre Royal. Many theatregoers will be able to vouch for the original quality of this show because it played at Komedia in July 2001 and then again in February 2002.
Similarly, Julia Pastrana, performed at the Theatre Royal as part of last year's Festival, was performed at Komedia in October 2001.
It's always nice to see Komedia's policy of promoting talent bearing fruit.
