Jackie Corbett calls you a newcomer (Letters, March 22). How is this defined? By such reckoning, as I was born in Brighton nearly 60 years ago, my views should be taken more seriously than the majority of the city's population.
How absurd.
A McKirdy advises you to "Go via the proper channels" (Letters, March 24).
I agree with that and hope Selma Montford, Ken Fines et al do, too. I cannot recall their names on any council ballot papers and they most certainly do not represent my views or those of anybody else I know. I hope, therefore, when the council approves the King Alfred plans, which 74 per cent of the electorate want, they will accept it with good grace.
Falmer Stadium is a good example where "do-gooders" interfering with the majority's wishes have delayed schemes the community desperately wants.
