Business leaders were this week expected to announce which streets will be put forward for Brighton and Hoves first Business Improvement District (BID).
Members of the Business Forum have been guaging opinion amongst traders to maximise the chances of a yes vote in a referendum expected in May.
A BID is where a group of traders agree to pay a small levy on their business rates to pay for things of their choice like extra security or grafitti removal.
So far 23 BIDS have been established across the UK, ten in London.
