Revised plans for a controversial £290 million seafront development include a police station.

The station forms part of new plans for the King Alfred development on Hove seafront.

Karis, the developer behind the proposals designed by Frank Gehry, was asked to clarify certain elements of the scheme by Brighton and Hove City Council as part of the planning process.

The new plans give details of where exactly buildings including a doctors surgery and recycling facilities will be located.

Nesting boxes for peregrine falcons have also been added.

The council is now doing a second round of public consultation before it votes on the scheme at the end of May.

Hard copies of the revised planning application can be inspected at the council's City-Direct offices or can be viewed on the council's website, www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/kingalfred.

Comments can be sent to the planning department by completing the form on the web site or by writing to Development Control, Hove Town Hall, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BQ, quoting the planning application number BH2005/05594.

Anybody who wants to comment on the revision of the plans must do so by April 21.
