The proposal to monitor and fine motorists who enter bus lanes prompts me to ask why Brighton and Hove City Council cannot make a goodwill gesture to the visitors who drive into Brighton on Sundays during the summer season.
If the restrictions on the use of bus lanes was lifted on summer Sundays between Patcham and Stanford Avenue, it would ease the flow of traffic in both directions and create less pollution.
Some bus lanes in London only operate at peak times.
Perhaps the council could investigate the feasibility of this suggestion.
