Your report about free travel for the over-60s in April stated that a ticket will be issued for each journey made (The Argus of March 16).
Are we to understand Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company will be charging Brighton and Hove City Council a single fare for every journey?
This would be far more expensive than is usual or necessary.
Most bus journeys are at least returns, so one buys a Saver ticket, which is cheaper than two singles and gives unlimited travel for the day.
At present, when using a Saver ticket, drivers do not register journeys on the ticket machines, so why then not simply issue us with a free Saver ticket at the start of the first journey?
