As the proprietor of one of the catering establishments criticised in recent correspondence (Letters, March 21) over the nuisance created by pigeons, may I say we always endeavour to discourage and disperse the birds.

I am of the opinion, however, only radical measures by Brighton and Hove City Council can improve the situation. This may well involve a controlled culling operation such as practised in Richmond Park to reduce the number of deer or, more particularly, the number of pigeons in London's Trafalgar Square.
