Transylvanian pop twins the Cheeky Girls lived up to their name when they turned up to a launch party - and gave the mayor a couple of big smackers.
Bob Carden is used to being greeted rather more demurely as the first citizen of Brighton and Hove.
But he was at the relaunch of the Honeyclub on Brighton seafront when 23-year-old identical twins Monica and Gabriela Irimia made a beeline for him.
Councillor Carden said: "I think my chains attracted them. It's a good job I've been married for 43 years."
The Cheeky Girls, from Rye, were invited to add some chutzpah to the party alongside a host of celebrities. The Honeyclub has been re-designed and refurbished in the past few months to become the city's largest seafront venue with seven bars in five rooms and two large beachfront terraces.
Other guests included actress June Brown - alias EastEnders' Dot Cotton - Laila Morse, who plays Big Mo in the soap, former EastEnder Russell Floyd and Chris Ellison, The Bill's DI Burnside.
Also at the party were Coronation Street serial killer Richard Hillman, played by Hove actor Brian Capron, some of Brighton and Hove Albion's squad and TalkSport presenter Mike Mendoza.
Councillor Carden said: "It was a fantastic night. My wife and I say it's one of the best fun nights we've had."
Guests explored the new decor of transparent glass floors, leather booths, chandeliers and a DJ booth made from reclaimed exposed bricks.
The neighbouring Tzarbar has become the Honeybar. The venue, which has a capacity of 1,100, will continue to hold regular club nights. The club is open until 3am or 4am some nights of the week.
