Serial killer Daniel Gonzalez planned to murder a number of vicars a year before he stabbed ticket seller Marie Harding to death.

A string of chilling letters written by Gonzalez, 25, from his cell at Broadmoor Hospital, reveals he even drew a map of churches and named the clergymen he intended to kill.

In the correspondence to a pen pal he refers to himself as "Your favourite serial killer".

Gonzalez boasts how he wanted to be the characters from horror films Scream and Halloween and says he went on his killing spree just because he was "bored". He was given six life sentences at the Old Bailey on Friday for killing Brighton and Hove Albion worker Mrs Harding, 73, and three others in September 2004 with long-bladed knives. Judge Ann Goddard allowed no provision for early release and said in his case "life should mean life".

In one letter shown to the Sunday Mirror he wrote: "I done somefin sick + I can't believe it, but I gotta live wiv it. I hope u understand ... I can't believe it. But life goes on, it won't b dat long, just gotta ride it. Did U read my story in da paper? Enuff of dat cos it's doin my head in, I just wanted to be like the guy in Scream or Halloween nuffin wrong wiv dat iz there? Wouldn't u wanna be like Mike Meyers (the killer in Halloween)? But it aint worth it. U 'ave to pay the price. I regret doin' it."
