An idependent production company is making movie history by producing a film entirely on the internet.

An interactive website for Dogberry and Bob, a film following the farcical antics of two private detectives, will allow anyone with talent to write, star in or help produce the movie.

Writers Roger O' Hara, 40, and Warren Dudley, 32, put together 20 pages of the script, cast three positions and one director, then launched the website, www.yourmovie.co.uk, on January 1.

They hope to find enough actors, writers, producers, musicians, crew and money online to complete the entire project by the end of the year.

The pair have a basic synopsis but one scene in every four will be written by the public.

The site allows visitors to write and submit their own scenes. If they are funny enough they will be included in the final cut.

People can also comment on the existing script and if the ideas are taken on board and the lines changed, the person responsible will get a writing credit in the movie and two free tickets to the premiere.

Budding actors, crew members, directors and musicians can also apply to be included in the production team through the site.

Visitors can invest anywhere between £20 and £250 in the film and become credited producers.

Advertising raised from the website will also pay for a large part of the pre-production budget.

All money raised will go to production costs no one involved in the film, including Roger and Warren, will draw a salary.

Roger, of Preston Drove, Brighton, and Warren, of Portland Terrace, Newhaven, who have been writing comedy scripts for film and television together for five years, came up with the idea for an online film last year and set up production company Sixty 6 Films to make it happen.

Warren said: "It's an idea we have been discussing for a while now and Dogberry and Bob seems the perfect vehicle.

"Several companies are now using the internet to fund their films.

"I had been thinking for ages that there was something in building up this interactive experience to create a community of people involved with a film before it even gets shot.

"The aim is for it to be a really hands-on and unique experience with anyone with a passion for film.

"We don't believe it's ever been done before and we feel with a great script and shared passion, Dogberry and Bob will make a big splash in the British film industry next year."

Several scenes have been set aside to be scripted by writers aged between 12 and 18.

Roger said: "We hope to inspire young writers to flex their creative muscles at a young age so that by the time they leave school the comedy writing seed is well and truly sewn."

The website has already generated six new scenes, a script editor and a production assistant for the film.

The pair, who met on the set of Warren's Second World War thriller Lived, have made two pilots of television comedy shows that have yet to be commissioned, though one has been bought by Babycow Productions, Steve Coogan's company.

The film will be shot entirely in Sussex. To find out more, write a scene, become a producer or part of the crew, visit www.yourmovie.co.uk .
