At the end of this gig, guitarist Josh Hubbard and lead singer Tom Atkin dived into the crowd as if they were jumping into a pool for a nice, relaxing swim.
They had earned it. Another hard-working gig from the Paddingtons, including support from up-and-coming New York rockers The Five O'Clock Heroes, proved exactly why this band from Hull are being tipped for stardom.
Following in the wake of post-punk, Libertines-style rock, The Paddingtons bashed out most of their recorded material, including First Comes First, Alright In The Morning and a live-wire rendition of Tommy's Disease.
Drummer Grant Dobbs stripped off for the encore, adding to the swimming pool theme, and we could forgive them for letting off a little steam.
