I write in response to several letters printed in The Argus (February 19) about litter on the A27 route.
I live in North Lancing and on several occasions have followed a council lorry, transporting rubbish to and from Halewick Lane public tip on the A27 through Lancing.
I have witnessed paper tumbling from the top of the overloaded, open-topped and uncovered lorry and blowing into the road and verges alongside the A27.
Now this seems a bit unnecessary, particuarly as, within days, you then see a council worker on foot collecting the rubbish along the verges.
Could the lorries not be covered with netting to prevent the untidiness?
