The X Factor finalist who spent months telling anyone who would listen "It's Chico Time" is about to find out if it's true.
Chico Slimani, of Crawley, made an in-store appearance at Virgin Megastore in London's Oxford Street to launch his first single It's Chico Time on Monday.
The energetic 34-year-old attracted an adoring fanbase during the finals of the ITV show with his imaginative performances and ability to stir up audiences with his cheeky charm.
The former Hazelwick School pupil moved to Crawley with his family when he was 14 after leaving Morocco where he was a goat-herder.
He began a Youth Training Scheme as a hairdresser at the Topsy Turvey salon in The Boulevard, Crawley, before working as an electrical engineer and becoming a stripper to raise money for his family in Morocco.
Chico told The Argus he hoped to return to Crawley and organise a charity concert there.
Fans will be able to see him perform live when the X Factor tour plays at the Brighton Centre this Saturday and next Tuesday.
