Building a new stadium for Brighton and Hove Albion at Falmer would be a very bad idea.
I attended Brighton University and the problems I had getting in and out of the campus convinced me that any additional traffic in that area would definitely not be advisable.
Why do Brighton and Hove Albion and Brighton and Hove City Council not consider the Waterhall site to be OK?
Access to that site would be ideal off the Brighton by-pass. Also, on match days of course, Mill Road could be made one-way (top-to-bottom) to provide parking space on one side of the road and exit after the match via the London Road roundabout.
A railway halt could be constructed adjacent to Waterhall if it was considered necessary to have a rail link to the ground.
The location would not pose any problems for residents (as it does at Withdean) or, in the case of Falmer, students at the two universities who deserve quiet surroundings for their studies.
Judging by the supporters demand for the Falmer venue, you would think all the supporters hail from Coldean and Moulsecomb, which I am sure is not the case.
Has anyone noticed the traffic in the Lewes Road area?
The less traffic attracted into this part of town the better.
I would suggest everyone associated with the club has a rethink.
Waterhall would be ideal both for access and provision of parking for cars and coaches.
