Another council is cancelling its hanging basket displays amid fears over water shortages.
Crawley Borough Council is ruling out baskets and troughs as part of a range of steps to combat the driest spell to hit the county for a century.
Brighton and Hove City Council announced earlier this month it was cancelling this summer's floral displays.
Other steps by the council include closing paddling pools, no longer hosing down depots, fitting Save-a-Flush bags in toilets, reducing the level of watering on bowling and golf turf areas and installing more water butts in the town.
The steps have been agreed with Southern Water and the Environment Agency.
Environment councillor Collin Lloyd said: "Our main source of water for the town, Weir Wood reservoir, is two-thirds empty when it would normally be full.
"We can't wait to see what will happen so I have agreed with the council's executive measures to reduce water usage."
