As a former Worthing Daewoo Motor Company employee, it's excellent news to hear car production is to start at again at Rover's Longbridge plant in Birmingham.
The Chinese have the commonsense to see the value of the skills of the British workforce, even taking into account the more competitive world of car production, compared to, say, 40 years ago.
The decision by the Chinese is proof of the myths peddled by bosses that it was the unions and lazy workers which brought down the British car-making industry.
