Come off it, Richard Coleman, of Hove Up. Two towerblock applications for Hove seafront were refused by Brighton and Hove City Council's planning department and a third gave up and withdrew its application.
These rejections happened for many reasons, all of which should apply to the King Alfred redevelopment.
There is also the issue raised by Councillor Burgess (Letters, February 20), who said: "High-rise buildings could be part of the plans, as long as they did not obscure the views of listed buildings".
The houses in St Aubyns Gardens, Hove, are listed buildings. Has Councillor Burgess shot Mr Coleman and himself in the foot?
