The lead singer's lips bleed, the drummer mounts his instruments and The Cribs have an air of geeky cool.
But boy can they rock. Big in America and slowly growing in popularity on this side of the water, The Cribs did the business at The Concorde 2.
This was their second gig here in the space of a few months and very little had changed.
Playing tracks from both albums, The New Fellas and Cribs, the brothers from West Yorkshire knew how to put on a show.
Their music, described as DIY punk-rock, is not so different from media darlings Babyshambles and The Libertines.
Indeed, The Cribs supported the Libertines on their final tour.
But in singer Ryan Jarman, minus his bleeding gums this time around, The Cribs had their own licence to perform and did exactly that.
