On reading the article about city bus improvements (The Argus, February 17), I'd like to point out that, if Brighton & Hove Bus Company can afford such changes and additions, how about an improved service closer to home?
I am one of the unfortunate bus users who lives on a route which doesn't feature a choice of buses.
On Monday, February 6, several people, most of them elderly, and myself, had to wait an hour in the freezing cold for the number 16 or 66, which was due at 3.41pm but didn't arrive until 4.45pm.
Although it wasn't the driver's fault, I was so cold and angry, I complained, for which I also apologised.
We are always being let down by these two buses. You'd think, with all the hype Roger French receives and for the prices we have to pay for short journeys, as well as long, he would have a back-up bus on hand for when one breaks down which these small buses often do.
