Many thanks to The Argus for the fine front page on the proposed new ice arena (February 17 ).
Keep Sussex Skating (KSS) has received a sharp up-turn in calls in the past few months wanting ice skating back in the city.
Presently, at national and Olympic level, interest in top-level ice skating has never been better. Locally, residents who signed the KSS petition for a new ice arena at Black Rock want to know what happened.
The answer is that behind the scenes plenty has been happening.
We sincerely hope everything is now in place to win Black Rock for the skaters.
There is a fine ice-skating heritage in the city which can't be denied. In 2006, we have the chance to launch a bold new future of sporting excellence to revitalise the whole area.
