I'd like to congratulate Sussex Police and the eb4U Community Safety Team for their actions in shutting down a crack house in Whitehawk (The Argus, February 16).
Their action sends a clear message that drug dealing, and the crime and anti-social behaviour associated with it, is no longer tolerated in east Brighton. Anyone coming to sell drugs there can expect tough action from police, Brighton and Hove City Council and community safety partners to put them out of business.
The activities of a small minority associated with drugs makes life a misery for the vast majority of residents who, quite rightly, expect protection from those profiting from addiction.
As one resident said, "Whitehawk has improved dramatically in the past five years". This community-led progress will not be slowed or reversed by the criminal actions of a few.
