Striker Gavin Gordon today targeted scoring the goals to keep Crawley up after joining for the rest of the season.

Gordon has signed as a free agent following his release from Notts County and is expected to make his debut at Kidderminster tonight.

The 25-year-old frontman has plenty of League experience with Lincoln and Cardiff but found himself out of favour at Meadow Lane.

He was restricted to just seven first team appearances and is now itching to make up for lost time.

He said: "Having not played much this season I really want to get back to it and hopefully do something while I am here to keep us up.

"I just want to play games and I am confident that if I do that I will score goals. You don't want to promise too much at the start but you never know what is going to happen in football.

"You might score a hat-trick in your first game and keep on scoring or it might take a bit of time. It all depends on how the games go but I have been brought here to score goals and that is what I will be trying hard to do."

Gordon has been training with Crawley's Conference rivals Burton Albion since leaving Notts County in January.

He opted for Reds over others because of the potential of the club and is hoping he can do enough to earn a deal for next season.

Gordon added: "It did not really work out for me at Notts County and I decided to call it a day there and move on.

"I finished with them on January 24 and have been training with Burton to keep things ticking over, so I am match fit.

"I looked around to see what my options were and Crawley showed the most interest. I talked to the manager and liked what he said so I decided it was the right move.

"I have been very impressed with the stadium and they have a good set of players. They have been going through a transitional period but now things are coming together and I can't see why we can't progress and do well next season.

"Hopefully I can bed-in quickly, we can move up the league this season and then we can push on for next year."

Crawley will move out of the relegation zone tonight on goal difference with a win as fellow strugglers Scarborough are without a game.

Manager John Hollins has urged his side to reproduce Saturday's hard-working performance which earned them three points for the first time since December 10.

He said: "Saturday was much better but we can't now sit back and think everything is okay. We have to go on and play like that every week. We have set the standard now and I'm expecting it to be maintained."

Reds will travel without goalkeeper Scott Ward, who has gone on trial to Championship club Plymouth Argyle.

Ward has made just four league appearances for Reds this season, his last in October.

The former Luton stopper has links with Plymouth through his brother Elliott who has just completed a three-month loan at Home Park from West Ham.

Striker Omari Coleman will also miss tonight's game after being ruled out for three weeks following an off-the-field incident which left him injured. Midfielders Simon Wormull (toe) and Danny Brown (foot) are still sidelined.
