The number of tabloid pages devoted to their on-off relationship reached double figures at the
weekend alone.
And it seems the pressure of the limelight has all become too much for Camille Aznar, the one time love of Celebrity Big Brother contestant Sam Preston.
Neighbours of the 25-year-old say she is being hounded by the press camped on the doorstep of her home in Hove, which she shared with The Ordinary Boys singer.
Despite returning to her job at Virtusales, an internet firm in Hove Technical Centre, Camille seems to have fled to her native France since news broke she had split with Preston.
Her neighbours were not sure if she has left Hove permanently but her friends reportedly say she has been left an "emotional wreck" by events since Preston left the BB house and his relationship with eventual winner Chantelle Houghton.
As soon as the flirtation in the Celebrity Big Brother house began, Ms Aznar became the centre of media attention.
She attended the show's final on Friday, January 27, to greet her boyfriend when he was finally evicted from the house.
Since then there has been frenzied speculation about which girl had won Preston's heart. One neighbour said: "We've had the national press camped on that doorstep for weeks now. They're just hounding the poor girl." Dozens of tabloid pages were devoted to the bizarre love-triangle at the weekend, while the Worthing-born singer is rumoured to be lining up a magazine deal worth £100,000 which will publicise his new romance with Essex girl Chantelle.
Another report claimed Ms Aznar has found a new flame, while other pictures showed Preston leaving a flat in Hoxton, London, with Chantelle.
Preston himself told a newspaper at the weekend Camille is moving back to France and their relationship is "a big horrible mess". However, the Ordinary Boy's turbulent love life has hardly hurt his band's record sales and they are currently on a four date tour of Japan.
Even his Brighton bandmates are having to get used to their new-found celebrity.
Guitarist Will Brown said: "I went into Forfars in Worthing to buy a cheese straw and the woman behind the counter asked if I was in The Ordinary Boys. I tried to get her to give me the cheese straw for nothing - let me off 23p now I'm famous, but she said no."
