Take your seats, folks, for a charter flight to Portugal, with a cast of five dressed as your cabin crew and playing everyone from pilots to baggage handlers.

Set to the dance routines and music by pop group Steps, this camply comic show from Practical Productions revels in slapstick humour and high drama, with just enough turbulence to make you break sweat.

There's plenty of adults-only action too, including a saucy scene in the aeroplane toilet as two passengers become fully paid-up members of the Mile High Club to the tune of Steps' hit, Perfect Strangers.

Written by Harry Denford, a headlining Comedy Store and Jongleurs stand-up comic who was also once an airline pilot himself, Club Class is coming to Brighton for one night only as part of its regional theatre tour after a celebrated London run.

Directed by former Brighton University graduate Jemma Gross, the play chronicles the playwright's own experiences of flying planes all over Europe - some of which were terrifying, while others provided plenty of scope for comedy.

Favourite memories include crashing not once, but twice. The first was an emergency landing at RAF Northolt which nearly killed Princess Di and the second came during a jolly to France, when the engine exploded mid-air.

Staged in the style of Brecht, the action takes place in and around the audience. As far as the crew are concerned, we are all aboard.

Tip: If you can blag an upgrade to the front seats of the theatre, you'll be served with a glass of bubbly before take-off. But you will have to be dressed to impress.

The cast includes Lissy Jones from the hit Aussie film Strictly Ballroom and Dan Thomas from CBBC.
