Following the piece about the dangers and noise of Brighton Road, Lancing, (The Argus, February 9), I'd like to know what the purpose of the recent "re-jointing" of this road's surface was?
If the operation, which has just been completed, is a prelude to it being re-surfaced, well and good.
If not, I'd like to point out to West Sussex County Council, which is responsible for the road work, that the previous noise made by passing cars - a rising then falling swish - has been replaced by the sort of noise a skateboard makes as it runs over the gaps between paving stones.
