I have read many letters on this page in recent weeks regarding cyclists in Brighton and Hove.
I am disappointed how some people manage to generalise so easily when it comes to venting spleen about this issue.
Not all cyclists disregard the law. Not all cyclists are abusive.
Some are, of course, and there are quite a number who give cyclists a bad name.
I'm a cyclist and when waiting at a junction, am frequently dismayed by the behaviour of other cyclists.
But let's be clear - some drivers are just as rude as some cyclists.
And some motorists are just dangerous. I'm often cut up when making my way around a roundabout.
Cyclists aren't sitting in a metal box and are vulnerable.
Some motorists are exceptionally generous and kind when they are faced by an on-coming bicycle and, for that, I'm always grateful.
Let's not generalise. The behaviour of bad cyclists won't improve if we are continually slagged off as one.
