Dennis Rodman headed for another payday in British basketball and declared: "It's not about money, it's about winning."
The former Chicago Bulls star makes his second appearance for Genesis Brighton Bears tonight when they entertain title favourites Newcastle Eagles before what looks like being a full house at the Brighton Centre.
Fans have paid between £15 and £40 for seats at the game and Rodman aims to give them a Valentine's night to remember.
Rodman, who starred in the recent Celebrity Big Brother series, is being paid an unspecified five-figure sum to try and help Bears end Newcastle's seven-game winning sequence.
Asked for his thoughts on what will be his second Bears appearance, he said: "It's about entertaining but the bottom line is It's about winning. When the game is on the line I will be there."
He added: "It's not about money. It's about coming here to win a basketball game.
"When you pay to see a game and it's not enjoyable, here's your money back, simple as that."
Rodman arrived in Sussex from Los Angeles yesterday and immediately held a book signing session and a press conference in central Brighton, accompanied by Nick Nurse.
Bears' head coach admits the arrival of a five- times NBA champion could not be more opportune with the Eagles in town.
Nurse said: "We've got a big challenge ahead. Newcastle are kicking everyones' butts and it is going to be tough for us but I think our guys are ready."
