Threshold - Womens Mental Health Initiative, a Brighton-based charity, was fortunate in lining up some extremely funny comediennes for this benefit concert.
The acts were well balanced, with the three main artistes offering different styles of comedy.
In a set which was manic and in places, aggressive Jenny Eclair fairly spat her wicked observations out. Her routine took in long-term relationships and ageing.
Calm was restored when Jo Brand took to the stage with her usual laidback air. Her act was full of fine moments, a gem being her explanation to her young daughter about the menopause and her interpretation of HRT.
Neither artist was afraid to make themselves the butt of their jokes.
The surprise of the evening was Joanna Neary and her bizarre collection of hilarious characters - a brilliant act to look out for.
